Jackson James Woolf
He finally decided to come to see his family that has been waiting patiently for him to arrive. So here is the story about his arrival.
The morning of September 27 I woke up about 3:30 am with some contractions but I wasn't sure if they were real or just more braxton hicks. My back was hurting and I couldn't fall back asleep so I got in the shower and then finally sat down in the bath for a hour. I called my mom at 4:30 and to my surprise she was wide awake. (weird I know) She just told me to time them and call her again if they don't go away. By 5:00 I was sure that this was the real thing and woke Houston up and told him that he needed to get ready to go. I called my sister Kelsie and she came over to sit with Sydney.
We got to the hospital about 5:30 and I was in labor. I think she said was about 5 cm but I can't really remember. We finally got in the a room about 6:30ish and waited for Dr. Browne to come in and break my water. He was busy, of course and so he came in sometime around 7:30 and broke my water. When he pulled the crochet hook out to break my water Houston say " what the heck are you doing with that" it freaked him right out. My contractions were much stronger after my water broke so I got in the shower and just let it run on my back and it was so helpful. At about 8 I got out of the shower and dried off and got into bed and had to of course wait for the doctor again and when he came in I started to push and Jackson was born at 8:18 am. He weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long.
I pushed less then 10 minutes which was nice but then I tore pretty good too from it being so fast. I am proud to say I didn't have any drugs and I am so happy that I didn't because I felt so good afterwards. I had morphine with Sydney because her heart rate was jumping up and down. And that just made me drowsy. I think everyone should try a natural labor. Women have been having babies forever so I know that we can all do it!
She is so happy to be a big sister!
Grandma doesn't like to share him much!
Remember I just had a baby. So don't judge.
First bath. He actually liked it!
The first week at home went pretty well. Sydney went and stayed at my inlaws so I got to get lots of sleep. Which I am so happy and grateful for. Jackson is a ok sleeper. He likes to be held at night. I am trying my hardest not to have him in bed with me but sometimes I am just so tired I fall asleep nursing him. He is a great eater. He was born with his first to fingers on his left hand not fully developed and they stop at the second knuckle. On his right hand his index finger has no nail on it. When I was getting stitched up. Houston noticed his fingers and Started crying. Its hard seeing something wrong with your child even if its just minor. I know it could be much worse and I am very thankful for a healthy baby. I just think about how mean kids can be in school and don't want him to be picked on. I hope that He can be strong and not let it bother him. He has to go for an ultrasound of his hips, at 6 weeks old, on Nov. 11th because the right one clicks. The doctor says most of the time its nothing but its better to check it out early and be able to fix it early if there is a problem.
Life with 2 kids is definitely different but I am so glad to be able to have happy healthy children.
