Update on the rugrats!

Sydney is just being a toddler! She isn't gaining any weight just getting taller! I think she has weighed 30 lbs for like a year now. She wears size 3 or 4 clothes. She is way to smart for her own good! She know how to sing her ABC perfectly. She like so sing "twinkle twinkle little star", "patty cake", "you are my sunshine" and instead of sunshine she says "Sydney Bear" I always sang it to her that way and now its her "Sydney Bear" song. She loves to count everything. She got toy food and a kitchen and bbq for Christmas and is always making me "supper". She has puppy stuff animals that she loves to sleep with and tries to take them everywhere we go. But I don't want to get in her the habit of clinging on to something that she thinks she NEEDS. She knows all her colors and sometime she will tell you the wrong color because she thinks its funny to trick you! I potty trained her before Christmas sometime and she is doing great with it. She never had a problem pooping just sometimes has pee accidents. I never put her in pull ups just I just find that they are so much like diapers anyways that she would just pee in them. I was having her wear a diaper at nap and bed time but after awhile she stopped peeing at night so I just stopped using they and she has gone 2 days with out one at either time and hasn't peed the bed yet. Knock on wood. I took Jackson to the pediatrician and while we were there the Dr. asked if Sydney was in preschool yet and I was like no she is only 2 1/2 and he was like wow I totally thought she was 3 1/2- 4 years old. So that must tell ya how smart my little cookie is!

Jackson had a checkup yesterday and is doing very well. He weighs 15 lbs 7 oz and is 25 inches long. That the 90% for both height and weight and his head is the 75%( he never told me how big around it was just the percentage). I had to start him on formula on the 27th of last month because my milk started to go away. I got an IUD put in and the hormones made my milk go way down. The same thing happened with Sydney too. I knew my milk was going down because before I got in put in Jackson was sleeping at least 10 hours during the night and when I got it put in he started waking up and I knew he was just not getting enough from me. Now that he is eating formula too he is back to sleeping all night! I love it! I try to breastfeed him as much as I can but my milk just keeps going down. He loves to bath. He just kicks and splashes like crazy. He doesn't like the bath very warm so it gets cold pretty quick. Last night he was in there for 20 minutes the water was so cold and he cried after I took him out. He would have stayed in there forever.

Well thats an update on them. Don't forget the post below! 2 in one day is crazy for me!

Christmas 2010.. a little late!

Well another Christmas has come and gone! I Love how Christmas brings family together. I just hate how there is so much built up for just one day. Also it is hard to be able to spend time with everyone! Especially when you have 3 different families you are trying to be with. The kids got spoiled of course and Sydney loved every minute of it. Jackson is just to little to know what was going on. Houston was done work on the 23rd and so we went shopping that day for my present. I got a watch! I have been wanted on for a while so it was a great gift even if I picked it myself. The nice thing about having kids is that when grandparents buy they presents its a surprise to you too. That is my favorite thing about Christmas is the surprise and the look on the persons face when they open theirs presents!
On the 19th I took the kids to my step dads family party. There is always good food there and they have the kids open a gift and the adults get to play white elephant.
My mom had to work the 24, 25, 26 so we had Christmas at her house one the 23rd. My brother Matt and his girl friend and kids came over too.I decided that instead of taking our presents somewhere to open them to just have Santa come on the night of the 23rd. So Christmas eve morning we opened our gifts at home! On Christmas eve we went to my aunt Monettes. We have gone there every year since I can remember for cabbage rolls! I look forward to it! I love home made cabbage rolls and nobodies beats Monettes! We went to Houston's parents that night and slept over. We spent all day with them and had a great meal and played some fun games! Boxing Day has always been the day I have spent Christmas with my dad. So we headed out to Wrentham and opened some more presents and ate another great meal. With all the driving we were so tired that one the 27th we just slept in and did a whole lot of nothing.
New years eve we went to a friends house with the kids. It was fun but by 1230 neither of them would sleep so we headed home and were in bed by 1. New years day we went back out to the Woolf's for another dinner! We had a great holiday season and can't wait to do it again in a year!

Syd and her new Skates!

My mom never lets me take pictures of her and the kids so I had to sneak one!

Look at the excitement in her face. LOVE IT!!

Where does the time go?

So I really have no idea where all the time goes and why it has to go by so fast! Houston has been working out a town for the past month and it SUCKS. I can totally handle the single mother life, that isn't the hard part. Its being alone at night that I hate. I don't have anyone to talk to or cuddle with and I have no one to annoying me when I am trying to sleep in, in the morning. I really appreciate the sacrifice Houston makes for his family and make us money so I don't have to get a job. I just wish that the work he had to do was closer to home. Soon he will be done up in Drumheller and be home with the kids and me. Its hard for him to. I hate how he is missing out on such a fast changing time in Jackson's life. Everything he comes home Jackson looks completely different to him.

Sydney is just growing up to be such a funny girl! She is talking so much more everyday and starting to use sayings that I say all the time and she know how to use them in the right context. She is just so smart. She can count to 10 and I am working on getting her to count more. She can say her ABC's. I need to start her on recognizing them. She can spell her name as well. I am trying to teach her how to spell "mom" and "dad" right now. She is just a got big sister and is very protective of her little brother. She loves him to pieces.

Jackson is getting chunkier everyday! I am not sure how big he is just I don't take him to the doctor to weigh him. I can't believe he is TWO months old today. I just love him to bits. He is a very good baby. Sleeps so good throughout the night. I put him to bed after 10 and he usually wakes up anywhere between 4 and 6. He is a gassy baby and when he is fussy its only just he can't get all the gas out of his tummy. He smiles so cute and is starting to coo all the time now. I don't remember writing him Jackson first post about him having 13 x-rays the day he was born. With him having amniotic band syndrome the pediatrician just wanted to make sure that there was nothing else wrong with other bones in his body. The x-rays came back normal. Jackson also went for his ultrasound on November 10th and his hips are looking good and don't click anymore. I have to take him back to the pediatrician in January and hopefully Jackson is doing great then too.
This picture really shows good what his fingers are like on his left hand!

I LOVE being a mom and think my kids are absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to me. I wouldn't know what I would be doing in life if I never had them. I am so thankful for a loving husband. I really miss him when he is gone but I know its worth the time apart and it has only made our relationship stronger.

One Month Old

Well that month totally flew by. I don't think I can have anymore children because the time goes by way faster the more kids you have and I just want to it to slow down. So I think two kids are enough for me! But you never know maybe 5 years down the road I will get really bad baby fever again!

Any who back to my little man. He is doing really well. He is on a pretty good schedule. Eat every 2-3 hours during the day and about every 3 hours at night. He is a pretty good eater. The only problem is that my let down is really fast and he doesn't like that to much and pulls off at the start. If I pump a little milk out first then it is fine, but I am not always in a place where I can pump milk.
He has bad baby acne right now on the back of his neck and a little on his face. It just makes your feel bad because there is nothing you can do about it. He likes to bath which is wonderful. He also likes his swing. Thank goodness. It really helps me out during the day so I can spend sometime with Sydney.

A lot of people have told me that it is harder to go from 1 kid to 2 then it is to just have 1. I would have to say it was harder just starting out with 1. By the time the second kid come along you already know what you are doing for the most part. The only hard part is trying to do something for the older child while you are feeding or changing the baby. I am so grateful for Houston he really has helped me out with spending a lot of quality time with Sydney. Even if it just a drive around the block in the "white truck".

Sydney hasn't gotten to jealous, but you definitely can tell when she needs some mommy time. She really likes to help with him and sometimes gets mad at me when I don't let her put his soother in his mouth. If Jackson is really crying hard and she is trying to put his soother in she just tells him to moves his hands. She also will tell him to relax when he first starts to cry. I guess I tell him that too. She likes to get diapers for him as well. I would have to say that she is a pretty good big sister and she will always tell you that she loves him and give him kisses.

He is here!

Jackson James Woolf

He finally decided to come to see his family that has been waiting patiently for him to arrive. So here is the story about his arrival.
The morning of September 27 I woke up about 3:30 am with some contractions but I wasn't sure if they were real or just more braxton hicks. My back was hurting and I couldn't fall back asleep so I got in the shower and then finally sat down in the bath for a hour. I called my mom at 4:30 and to my surprise she was wide awake. (weird I know) She just told me to time them and call her again if they don't go away. By 5:00 I was sure that this was the real thing and woke Houston up and told him that he needed to get ready to go. I called my sister Kelsie and she came over to sit with Sydney.
We got to the hospital about 5:30 and I was in labor. I think she said was about 5 cm but I can't really remember. We finally got in the a room about 6:30ish and waited for Dr. Browne to come in and break my water. He was busy, of course and so he came in sometime around 7:30 and broke my water. When he pulled the crochet hook out to break my water Houston say " what the heck are you doing with that" it freaked him right out. My contractions were much stronger after my water broke so I got in the shower and just let it run on my back and it was so helpful. At about 8 I got out of the shower and dried off and got into bed and had to of course wait for the doctor again and when he came in I started to push and Jackson was born at 8:18 am. He weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long.
I pushed less then 10 minutes which was nice but then I tore pretty good too from it being so fast. I am proud to say I didn't have any drugs and I am so happy that I didn't because I felt so good afterwards. I had morphine with Sydney because her heart rate was jumping up and down. And that just made me drowsy. I think everyone should try a natural labor. Women have been having babies forever so I know that we can all do it!

She is so happy to be a big sister!

Grandma doesn't like to share him much!

Remember I just had a baby. So don't judge.

First bath. He actually liked it!

The first week at home went pretty well. Sydney went and stayed at my inlaws so I got to get lots of sleep. Which I am so happy and grateful for. Jackson is a ok sleeper. He likes to be held at night. I am trying my hardest not to have him in bed with me but sometimes I am just so tired I fall asleep nursing him. He is a great eater. He was born with his first to fingers on his left hand not fully developed and they stop at the second knuckle. On his right hand his index finger has no nail on it. When I was getting stitched up. Houston noticed his fingers and Started crying. Its hard seeing something wrong with your child even if its just minor. I know it could be much worse and I am very thankful for a healthy baby. I just think about how mean kids can be in school and don't want him to be picked on. I hope that He can be strong and not let it bother him. He has to go for an ultrasound of his hips, at 6 weeks old, on Nov. 11th because the right one clicks. The doctor says most of the time its nothing but its better to check it out early and be able to fix it early if there is a problem.

Life with 2 kids is definitely different but I am so glad to be able to have happy healthy children.
